最近快把卡尔的《绿胶囊之谜》看完了，个人觉得还不错，可能这本书就是卡尔的为数不多的毒杀作品吧！呵呵！大家有看过这本书吗？求卡尔的全部作品表哦！

卡尔笔下主要有两位名侦探，亦即菲尔博士与亨利·梅瑞威尔爵士。猛一看之下，两人似乎极为相像，都是身材高壮，声如洪钟，学养俱佳却透着点古怪的中壮年英国绅士，但两人其实各有各的特质与个性。

以菲尔博士来说，其形象显然是根据英国名作家却斯特顿所塑造，这位可以用肥胖形容的绅士，必须靠着两支柺杖走路，个性一直以来也都相当和蔼可亲。他有一头蓬松的乱发，头上经常戴着铲形帽，喜欢穿着斗蓬。平日住在俭朴小屋的他，并未与当局有任何正式的往来。

$ W* d- @! w' X. T& k( o另一方面说来，亨利·梅瑞威尔爵士身材虽然也很「结实」，并且有个「威武」的大肚子，身手却非常灵活矫健，而且他个性易怒，常常高声发起脾气，叫人有点不敢亲近。这位富有的爵士，出身自英国渊源最久远的爵位，对自己的公职身份经常嗤之以鼻，不过在最初几本小说中，他还是英国情报局的领袖呢。在最早的小说中便可以明显看出，这个戴着眼镜、秃头、经常一脸不悦的梅瑞威尔爵士，有着浓浓的邱吉尔味，在後期的小说中，这样的特质更是变本加厉。

0 J3 O' P' G0 Z) A3 ?近年来，推理界是将卡尔的菲尔博士系列，视为其主要成就，不过更早期一点，广受评论欢迎的，则是梅瑞威尔爵士，着名推理小说评论家海克拉夫（Howard Haycraft，重要着作为《Murder for Pleasure: The Life and Times of the Detective Story》）在 1941 年便写道，梅瑞威尔爵士那「老头子」，「在当代各个小说名侦探中，最受当今作家喜爱」。
